About Me
Hello! I'm TechnoToast aka "Toast", "Techno", "Toast Enthusiast", and "Girl Who Changes Her Name on Twitter to a Dumb Joke Every Month."
I'm a black, Haitian-American illustrator and graphic designer (honestly at this point: I'm a multimedia artist with a focus in illustration & graphic design) who lives in the northeast U.S and who occasionally gets mistaken as a music producer online. I'm a self taught artist who's been drawing ever since I could hold a pencil. But the past 10+ years are when I really decided to take art seriously and work hard to try to get into an art related career field. In the Hell Year known as 2020, I graduated with my B.F.A in Graphic Design. |
InspirationI have a massive love for the dramatic, abstract, and surreal. I love bright, vivid colors and vaporwave/cyberpunk aesthetics. I adore storytelling and it's impossible to get me to stop making engaging stories and incorporating them into all my projects.
In my free time I spend a lot of time drawing my own characters and dreaming up more stories I want to bring to life someday. I sometimes make fanart illustrations or comics. Sometimes it's fanart of games, shows, anime, streamers. You've probably seen me spend a great amount of time cracking jokes in your Local Streamers' twitch chat. |
Projects
Some people may know me for various smaller projects that I've done in the past, but the following listed here are my much bigger projects and my personal favorites.
In September 2016, I launched my very first webcomic series called Waiting to Cross, a romantic comedy about finding your potential soulmate on the sidewalk. It's currently on an indefinite hiatus.
Virtual-K is my shop where I sell my designs and illustrations on physical merchandise like stickers, prints, posters, keychains, etc. The items featured there have a style that is more focused on surreal and abstract concepts with weird (and sometimes creepy-cute) aesthetics. REM_ZINE/REMiniscence was my year long capstone project that I was working on all throughout 2019-2020. It was an interactive project about weird dreams and strange memories! A project where the audience would directly interact by telling Remi, an alien-robot stranded on Earth, their dreams so that she can use the dreams as fuel for her ship to get back home. I also worked with other artists who would go through the dreams I collected and draw that dream. It was a fun and wild ride to create this project and while it didn't come out how I originally wanted (due to the pandemic), it still turned out really well. |
The VK Merch Club–or more colloquially known–my sticker club, is an ongoing project that works as an extension of my store. It operates through my patreon and every month you get exclusive stickers (or other items if you subbed to that tier) sent to you in the mail! I've been working on it since December 2020 and officially launched it in January 2021.
PSA: Peepy Saving Adventure! is a short comedic rpg game I worked on with 2 of my friends (Hippoopoo and WeirdoSheep) that we made for Item Label's emerald peepy contest they were having in their discord. We created and released it in January 2021. 25 Minute Cat Mugs is a slow burn personal project I gave myself back in January 2021 so I could get better at digital painting. I give myself 25 minutes to do a still life painting of my favorite mug, using only the last 2 colors I have on my color palette from the day before. I either get really good color schemes or really awful color schemes, but it's all part of the challenge. |
